WHO MAKES IT HAPPEN

Jacque Brown
Founder & Director
Jacque “Jac” Brown turned a childhood dream into a lifelong mission built on discipline, passion, and purpose. That dream is now known as TWWAS—The Work Will Always Show, a youth basketball program grounded in skill development, mentorship, and community.
A standout at East Carteret High School in North Carolina, Jac led his team to a state championship and earned multiple Player of the Year honors. He went on to play collegiately at Mount Olive, Cape Fear Community College—where he set school records—and UNC Wilmington. After college, Jac played professionally both in the United States and overseas in Costa Rica.
His time abroad offered more than just basketball experience—it sparked a deeper love for teaching the game and creating opportunities for the next generation. Today, Jac brings that same energy back to his community, using his journey to coach, mentor, and build culture for young athletes ready to put in the work.

Michaela Kelly
Head Coach
Michaela, a Massachusetts native and oldest of seven, grew up with AAU basketball and earned numerous athletic honors for basketball and running, including leading her AAU team to Silver in Nike Nationals - Atlanta, GA (2019).
During the pandemic, she turned to coaching AAU to stay involved with the game, eventually coaching teams from 6th grade to women’s basketball at Colby-Sawyer College. She also served as an event coach and scout for Yale's WBB Elite Prospect Invitational.
In her coaching, Michaela emphasizes the mental and physical aspects of the game, focusing on player development and discipline. She strives to build a new culture of connection and resilience in our community.

Keith Bernauer
Head Coach
A Retired Navy Air Traffic Controller, Keith played basketball both at the JUCO level and for the All Navy Team.
Returning home to Morehead City in 2012, he started coaching through local Parks and Rec programs. A few of his teams over the last 25 years include Morehead Middle School Girls, East Carteret Girls, and currently Beaufort Middle School Boys.
Keith's passion lies in giving back to his community through the game he loves. Helping young men and women develop their skills, while also helping them navigate life. We're thrilled see his passion and experience hit the courts!

Audrianna Ronning
Operations Coordinator
Audrianna is a proud wife and mom of two boys who share a love for basketball that has grown tremendously through Bucket Academy. As a lifelong local, she believes this program is opening doors for kids and providing opportunities that may not have been possible otherwise.
In her spare time, she loves spending time at home with her family and their three dogs. They keep Audrianna busy, but they are her greatest joy, and she wouldn’t trade those moments for anything.
She also serves as the Program Director at The Bridge Down East After School Program, where she is passionate about supporting and empowering the youth in our community. Helping young people grow, succeed, and feel supported has always been close to her heart.
